Associates' Track Record
The scope and scale of our consulting engagements is a genuine mix of incremental development and transformational work. Both are equally important and attract distinct challenges as people build their capability and confidence to adapt to new norms.
On occasions, our engagements are part of a major turning point in our clients' histories, where our Associates have proven their true worth. Refer below for a snapshot of these transformations, some of which pre-date our time together at Workforce Advantage, all of which where our Associates have played a lead or significant role.
Safety Culture reforms
This turnaround work spanned several Mills and was initiated by PaperlinX executives in response to several fatalities and greater scrutiny from the regulator.
The engagement efforts involved facilitating re-design of structures, systems and capabilities to drive new safety focus and performance in what had long been regarded as a highly complex, adversarial unionised environment and significant contractor reliance/involvement.
Transformation was evident in higher levels or awareness and commitment from all stakeholders, abandonment of several past (legacy) practices, investment in new behavioural standards and results and resulting uplift in performance indicators.
High Performance Teams
Several Associates acted as Organisation Design consultants for the Future Post initiative that saw the progressive introduction of innovative team-based work systems in each of the Mail Processing Centres across the country.
The re-design effort was triggered as part of a high tech investment in automated processing technology (known as Future Post), involved facilitation of Steering Committee and local Design Teams and represented in major shift away from prior hierarchies, mechanical and manual processing and handling, and management/leadership practices.
Successful transformation was evident in continued adoption of Greenfield designs across brownfield locations, continued commitment from corporate and union stakeholders, endorsement from independent audits, and ultimately facility performance
Forensics Goes Lean
Our Associates were engaged to support the re-design of Forensics department and its adoption of a lean management philosophy and new operating model.
The engagement involved reconciling major points of difference on the Design Blueprint between Victoria Police, staff and the CPSU and provision of frameworks, facilitation and coaching support for the initial nine months of deployment known as the Service Delivery Enhancement Program.
Ultimately, transformation was achieved and continues to underpin the new levels of performance and standing Forensics now enjoys across the Victoria Police community.
Refinery Conversion
Our team of Associates were engaged as change consultants and facilitators to support the 4 year programme to convert the Kurnell Refinery NSW to a terminal operation.
The work canvassed all aspects of advice, coaching and facilitation and evaluation. Specifically, our Associates had carriage of HR/IR risk strategies; stewardship of engagement initiatives with field leaders, unions, and contractors, interfacing at all times with internal corporate and site leadership, other consulting specialists, and Caltex project teams and personnel.
Transformation was delivered ahead of time and within budget; was recognised internally as an exemplar for “working together” and endorsed by market analysts as a significant and well-executed restructuring .
